Home additions & new homes in Woodside.

A home should sit comfortably in its setting and work beautifully for the people inside. Sami & Sons serves Woodside homeowners planning additions, new homes and substantial remodels, working with your design team to understand the whole construction scope.

Planning your project

Look at the site before the silhouette.

Access, landform and the relationship between the house and its surroundings can shape a Woodside project. A useful first conversation connects those site questions with the spaces you want to create.

Identify the right review route.

Woodside provides separate submittal requirements for conceptual and formal Architectural and Site Review, as well as building and site-development permits. Ask Planning which applications apply to your proposal before treating a concept drawing as a construction-ready package.

Read the city guidance

Show the intended scale clearly.

The Town’s design-review resources include a story-pole location worksheet. If story poles or related site demonstrations are required for your project, coordinate them with the design submission so reviewers can understand the proposed form on the actual land.

Read the city guidance

Carry the approved design into the build.

Woodside’s Building Department reviews structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing aspects of construction. Once the design direction is established, the construction set needs to describe how those parts work together. Bring any approval conditions into our scope discussion.

What we build

Start with the space
you have in mind.

Additions and new homes lead our work. We also build ADUs, whole-house remodels, sunrooms and garage conversions.

Our first conversation

Bring what you have.
We’ll start there.

You do not need every answer to get in touch. These details help us understand the work you are considering.

Architectural drawings, a house model, pencils and material samples arranged for a planning discussion.
Bring the drawings, priorities and questions into one conversation.
  • A survey or site plan and any information about the land’s contours
  • Concept drawings and the planning-review route discussed with the Town
  • Access information for deliveries, equipment and material storage
  • Existing reports and any conditions attached to earlier approvals

Before we talk.

Is design review the same as a building permit?

They address different parts of the project. Woodside publishes distinct planning and building requirements. Confirm the sequence for your proposal with the Town, and keep the resulting conditions with the construction drawings.

Can you work from an early concept?

Yes. At that stage, we can discuss construction priorities, access and open decisions with you and your architect. A concept is a useful starting point; it is not a substitute for the information needed to price and build the agreed scope.

How should we think about an addition on a difficult site?

Start with the property information you already have. Identify what is known about access, levels and existing structures, then list what your design and engineering team still needs to establish. That is more useful than assuming another project’s solution will fit.

City guidance checked September 18, 2026. The applicable requirements depend on your property and proposal; confirm them with the City and your design team.
